When viewed from space, the Earth, the third planet from the Sun, looks like a blue-white, cloud-covered ball with one silver large satellite - the Moon. Compared to the giant gas planets on the periphery of the solar system, our Earth is a very small rocky world.
Unlike all its planetary sisters and brothers, the Earth carries oceans of water on its surface, where, according to scientists, the life of our planet was born. Earth has changed dramatically in its 4.6 billion years of existence.
Planet Earth Changes
Scientists think that the Earth, formed from a cloud of dust and gas, at first was a ball of molten rocks.
Then it gradually cooled and was literally flooded with water. Then continents grew among the water. They moved on the surface of the Earth, collided, connected and again diverged.
Life in the Earth
Life appeared, often developing in very bizarre forms. Most of the ancient species of living things have died out long ago. Millions of years, huge and quite (according to scientists) intelligent creatures - dinosaurs - have shaken the surface of the Earth. Then they immediately disappeared from her face. Now we, the people who know how to make tools and settled all corners of our planet, are entering a new era in the history of the Earth.
Our activity changes its appearance. We are only now beginning to understand how strong our impact is and in what ways it is carried out, only now we have realized the responsibility that we bear for the safety of our native home - the Earth.
